The Andrea Lauren Elegant Interiors Team just returned from Hight Point Market! High Point Market is the largest Home Furnishing Show in the world! It is basically Fashion Week for Home Furnishings and is held in beautiful High Point, NC. The Show happens twice a year in April & October, attracts over 75,000 designers, architects, buyers, and vendors from all over the world, and has over 11.5 million square feet of show space!
At High Point, interior designers have access to networking and educational events where they can learn more about the most inspiring ideas, business innovations, and the latest trends in the interior design field. Many designers use High Point Market for inspiration for future projects and, if the timing is right, numerous designers utilize Market for selecting key pieces or finishing touches for current projects. Shopping at market allows designers to select the most state-of-the-art pieces from all the latest furniture launches for their clients who like to stay ahead of the interiors game. Our team was scoping out the news trends and here’s what we noticed:
Gold was everywhere! That’s right, the gold glam of the 70’s has returned, and we’re loving it. Everything from light fixtures, cocktail tables, to upholstery were accented with gold. Although this metal has been associated with more classical interiors, it’s becoming clear that gold can also bring warmth and luxury to an interior and can be showcased in more transitional or modern design.
Blush Pink, or as we like to call it, Himalayan Sea Salt has become a hit in home decor. This subtle color can be paired with many different finishes and fabrics that would be perfect for a feminine guest bedroom. Himalayan Sea Salt can be the perfect color to inspire creativity and create soothing environments that would be perfect for at-home offices or art studios. Also, use this color to glam up a powder bath or mudroom and you’ll be sure to turn heads.
Greens were all over the place in the 80’s & 90’s and we’re excited that this timeless color green is becoming more prevalent in design this year! Green is a perfect statement color and can be used in bright colorful areas or it can be a subtle pop of color in tone-on-tone room designs. Pair green with gold and you’ll have an elegant yet relaxing look.
We could go on and on about High Point, but we’ll stop here. As always, it was an adventure and an amazing experience. Let us know what you think about these trends!
